Strength in Rupture – Introducing the FRAKTUR Collection

FRAKTUR

Exploring the beauty of the fracture and the resilience of marble.

At Tectónica Design, we continue our journey of elevating stone beyond its traditional boundaries. Our latest collection, FRAKTUR, is a profound collaboration with the Vienna-based artist and designer Leandra Eibl. It is a series that captures a singular moment: the point where a solid form breaks, only to reveal a new, more complex identity.

The name Fraktur—German for "fracture"—alludes to both the physical act of breaking and the historical blackletter typeface characterised by its broken, angular lines. In this collection, stone is no longer just a surface; it is a volume that tells the story of its own transformation.

The Concept: Strength through Rupture

The FRAKTUR collection challenges the observer’s perception of stability. By utilizing our advanced technical capabilities at Tectónica, Leandra Eibl has orchestrated "controlled breaks" in premium marble. These sharp, jagged edges are juxtaposed with perfectly polished surfaces, creating a dialogue between the raw power of nature and the precision of human craftsmanship.

Each piece acts as a visual tectonic event. The collection explores how light gets trapped in the irregular crevices of a fracture, turning a moment of destruction into a sculptural celebration of the material’s inner soul.

The Designer: Leandra Eibl
